Pipeline Integrity
Pipeline Integrity is a core service for Blade Energy Partners. Blade engineers on an average have over 15 to 20 years of experience in pipeline integrity from an operator’s perspective and services perspective. This normally translates to a value-added engineering solution for pipeline operators.- Integrity Assessment of In-line Findings, including Corrosion, SCC, Weld Defects, Mechanical Damage, Life Prediction and Re-inspection Interval.
- Mechanistic and Integrity impacts of specialized threats such as stress corrosion cracking, mechanical damage, geotechnical damage, seam and circumferential weld threats and others.
- ILI Tool Performance Evaluation (MFL, Caliper, USCD and EMAT): POD, POI, POFC and Sizing Accuracy/Tolerance
- Inspection and Maintenance Prioritization, Scheduling and Rehabilitation of Pipeline Systems
- Failure Investigation and Root-Cause Analysis Using Combined metallurgical, Environmental, and Fracture Mechanics, i.e., Interdisciplinary Approach.
- Direct Assessment: Design and Data Evaluation
- Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessment
- Pipeline Material Testing and Qualification and Third-party Expert witness
- Critical Engineering Assessment: FE Modeling of Metal Loss, Crack-like Flaws, Mechanical Damage (Dent and Bulge), Stress or/and Strain Based Fatigue
- Training and Technology Transfer
In the last eight years, such services have been provided to various gas pipelines, including 24”-36” ,both gas and liquid lines, 16” and 26” systems , 12” offshore (subsea) and 24” on-shore liquid pipelines, 12” liquid pipelines, 12” to 30” pipeline , 8”-30” both gas and liquid lines and 30” Gas lines in South America. The integrity assessment projects include internal and external corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, mechanical damage, transient flow modeling, failure analysis, risk assessment and life prediction, and fitness-for-service.
Blade Energy is extensively involved in the cutting edge research of pipeline integrity technologies. Multiple research projects have been funded by Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) and government agencies (DOT PHMSA); we have also had pipeline operators fund relevant research projects that have immediate impact on pipeline integrity and safety.
