The 2023 SPE International Award Recipients Announcement comes soon after the announcement of Oscar Gabaldon as the SPE Dallas Section 2023 Engineer of the Year.
With international experience that spans both technical and business realms, including offshore and onshore assets in conventional and unconventional resources, Gabrijel has been an inspiration since joining Blade just under a year ago. His skills in Engineering, Project Management, Business Development, and technical proficiency in tools like GOHFER, FracPro, StimPro, Wellcat, and IFS have been instrumental in driving success.
His career highlights include leading completion teams as the Global Completion Lead at Seismos, Austin, managing offshore and onshore stimulation projects as a Senior Stimulation Engineer at OMV Petrom, Bucharest, Romania, and real-time supervision and troubleshooting of stimulation jobs as a Senior Engineer at Halliburton, North Dakota, USA. Gabrijel’s on-field project management and his roles at Halliburton in Saudi Arabia and Wyoming, USA, have contributed to his reputation as a dynamic and versatile professional.
Educated with an M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Belgrade and a B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Wyoming, Gabrijel’s commitment extends beyond his professional life. He has been actively involved in extra-curricular activities, such as serving as the Technical Program Chairperson at SPE, Romania, being part of the project team at SPE Europe EnergyGeo Hackathon, Europe, and speaking at TEDx Zemun, Serbia. His linguistic prowess in Serbian, English, Italian, Arabic, Spanish, French, and Romanian further adds to his impressive profile.
