Well Design Workshop

The Well Design Workshop is a dynamic well planning workshop that increases and consolidates participant’s understanding of the well design process and raises their awareness of important safety, environmental, economic and regulatory considerations. Working in teams during scenario-based exercises, participants are tasked with meeting demanding sub-surface goals, dealing with real well and operational issues, and accurately and succinctly reporting their progress.

Who Should Attend
The well design workshop is designed for engineers with 3 to 8 years experience who are tasked with preparing well planning and AFE documents.

What You Will Learn
During the 5-day workshop you will you will learn to accurately evaluate subsurface geotechnical information and economic and well data and to prepare well designs and well cost estimates. In a realistic working environment, you will learn to address joint venture partner expectations and regulatory requirements, and manage the pressures of reporting to demanding asset managers. Working in teams, you will also learn the value of good communications and collaboration.

• Obtaining authorizations for expenditure
• Developing a well plan and drilling the well on paper
