This introductory level course explains the fundamentals of completions intervention technology following a structured progression through the design, implementation, operation, diagnostic and intervention phases during the life of the well. The course focuses on the practical aspects of each phase, using design examples and case histories of both successes and failures to reinforce the importance of the design in delivering a quality well that helps maximize production and minimize costs over the well’s life cycle.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for entry-level drilling operations, production operations, workover and completions personnel; petroleum engineers; drilling and completion contractor personnel; and service company personnel engineers who need to understand the basics of completions and intervention.
What You Will Learn
Participants will learn how to develop a high level completion strategy, select tubing, packers, and completion flow control equipment for a range of well types, including horizontal, multilateral and HPHT wells. They will learn about applicability of sand control, fracpack and well stimulation options, flow barrier strategy and installation and retrieval practices for tubing, packers and other devices.
The course also covers intervention strategies and remedial measures for formation damage/skin removal including equipment and methods.
The following material is covered.
