Blade is involved in a wide range of projects for several clients. Following is a list of the most recent Blade projects. Some of these projects are ongoing.
Over twenty comprehensive underbalanced drilling “technical and economic feasibility” studies for several clients in challenging fields in a variety of geographical areas and formation types. Our studies have ranged from South America to Asia, from high-pressure, high-rate gas fields in carbonates and sandstones to naturally fractured granite basement reservoirs.
Buckling, post-buckling and stress analysis under thermal and operational loads for a long, pipe-in-pipe subsea pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico.
Underbalanced drilling design, engineering, implementation and project management for the first offshore underbalanced drilling campaign in Indonesia.
Design, engineering and implementation of an underbalanced drilling campaign for offshore application, for a major operator in Malaysia.
Deepwater well construction and well systems design for two complex deepwater projects for a major operator in the Gulf of Mexico. Technical contributions include drilling systems design, casing, tubing and well systems design, fatigue and slip crushing analysis, and design of unique solutions to problems such as annular pressure buildup.
A flagship “Advanced Underbalanced Well Design” Training Course offered both to general public and customized to specific operator and service companies. This course has established itself as the premier underbalanced drilling course in the past year.
Development of industry’s first comprehensive fatigue and stress analysis package for drill strings. Applied the package in analysis and fatigue management for a multi-well short radius-drilling program in Indonesia.
Development of first transient underbalanced drilling training simulator in partnership with Scandpower, A. S., of Norway. Product launch scheduled for July 2001.
Development of IADC WellCAP-accredited well control training program for Underbalanced Drilling. Program launch scheduled for August 2001.
Design, engineering, implementation and project management for an exploration campaign in a gas field in Pakistan, as part of an agreement with American Energy Group (see press release, dated September 9, 2000, at http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/000921/tx_america.html ).
Design of several challenging high-pressure, high-temperature wells for clients in California, Norway, and the Middle East.
