Drilling Engineers

Blade has immediate openings available for drilling engineers with 10-15 years experience in a variety of locations who have demonstrated the ability to deliver innovative solutions to difficult problems. Engineers meeting these criteria would join our project implementation teams working internationally. Submit Resume

Senior Technologist

Blade Energy Partners seeks to fill the position of Senior Technologist. The position requires use of Ansys, Abaqus, and Patran software applications and Pro/E and AutoCad modeling packages to develop technical solutions for high-end, upstream oil and gas industry engineering problems in the areas of advanced mechanics of materials, finite element analyses, and thermal stress and failure analyses. In addition, the Senior Technologist (i) develops algorithms and specifications for implementation of solution approaches, and writes technical reports, (ii) performs design and predicts limits of performance and failure of mechanical and thermal systems, (iii) uses mechanical analyses software to analyze stress, (iv) provides training to engineers on thermal and fluid sciences relevant to the oil and gas industry, and (v) writes technical research papers reporting novel solutions of existing or new engineering problems. Candidates must have Master's in Mechanical Engineering, plus one year of relevant work or research experience. Submit Resume

Mechanical / Structural Engineer
Blade Energy Partners seeks to find Mechanical/Structural Engineers with the following qualifications: A MS or PhD in Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering, with a strong emphasis on engineering and applied mechanics, numerical methods, fluid flow and thermal phenomena in complex geometries. The candidate must have the ability to apply strong analytical skills towards solving a wide range of practical engineering problems. The position requires a background in Finite Element Analysis that extends beyond use of commercial FEA software. The Mechanical/Structural Engineer must demonstrate a clear ability to construct FEA models to solve unique and non-standard thermal, fluid flow and stress-analysis problems. In addition, candidates should have expert level skills in programming languages, Fortran, C++ and Visual Basic, as applied to the delivery of high-end technical solutions to engineering problems. Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are desired. Publications are a plus.

The duties of Mechanical/Structural Engineer are as follows: develop solutions to high-end engineering problems in the upstream oil and gas industry. Specifically, to model stress / strain, thermal and transport phenomena in wellbores and porous media, using analytical and numerical methods such as finite element, finite volume and finite difference methods. Apply models and solution methods to problems in deep water well construction, riser design, tubular mechanics and thermal effects on tubular response, inverse problems, and reservoir simulation. Develop and apply evolutionary algorithmic methods to the solution of ill-posed inverse problems and optimization problems. Implement the technical and numerical solutions in high-quality computer programs for delivery to clients. Write and present archival technical papers in quality journals and conferences. Submit Resume

Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineer
Blade Energy Partners is seeking Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineers with a MS or PhD in Material Science and Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or Mechanical Engineering with a strong emphasis on Fatigue, Fracture, Corrosion, Environmentally Enhanced Cracking, and Fracture Mechanics Based Testing. Candidates are required to have the ability to apply basic concepts and strong analytical skills towards solving a wide range of material’s integrity problems. Background in Elastic-Plastic Fracture Mechanics, Micromechanics, and Finite Element Analysis with skills in programming languages, Fortran, C++ and Visual Basic, as applied to the delivery of high-end technical solutions to engineering problems is a plus. Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

The duties of the Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineer are as follows: Developing solutions to high-end material integrity and engineering problems in both upstream oil and gas and pipeline industry. Specifically, to model material’s elastic/plastic mechanical and environmental behaviors in downhole wells, wellhead, gathering and transmission pipelines, using analytical and experimental methods such as micromechanics, plastic damage theory, finite element and environmental related fracture mechanics based testing methods. Apply models and solution methods to problems in well construction, material selection, structure integrity, risk and life prediction. Develop and apply evolutionary algorithmic methods to the solution of material and cost/risk/life optimization problems. Implement the modeling solutions in high-quality computer programs for delivery to clients. Write and present archival technical papers in quality journals and conferences. Submit Resume
