Blade Energy Partners is very pleased to announce the addition of Ravi Krishnamurthy as a Partner. Ravi has 14 years of diverse oilfield experience. Educationally, Ravi received a PhD from the University of Virginia in Material Science in 1990, a Masters degree in Ocean Engineering from Florida Atlantic University, and a Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture from the Indian Institute of Technology.
Ravi was instrumental in developing material specifications for critical service environments (HTHP, H2S, etc), and building the Metallurgical and Fracture Mechanics Laboratory within Mobil. He was also a key member of the technical team that developed Mobil's risked-based casing design methodology (LRFD) which included the application of fracture mechanics for casing and tubing design. Following this from 1995 to 1998, Ravi worked for Mobil Oil Canada where he provided metallurgical and other facilities and downhole technical support to the management of 8 different producing fields and 2 mature crude oil pipeline networks. He was responsible for the integrity management of Stress Corrosion Cracking on the Rainbow Pipeline. Prior to the merger from 1998 to 2000, Ravi was part of the MEPTEC drilling group working on CT drilling, Underbalanced Drilling and Deepwater drilling. In the 4 years since the merger, he worked for PII and then GE building a pipeline integrity services business, which in 2003, had 52 engineers and scientists who addressed corrosion management, IMP based integrity management, risk assessment, direct assessment and SCC management of pipeline systems for a global client base.
Ravi will be part of the continued effort at Blade Energy to increase value to our clients in increased diversification of services, and establishing a strong presence in Houston. Additionally, Blade Energy will continue in their efforts to leverage leading edge technology to increase their scope of services and continuously improve the engineering solutions in the oil and gas industry.
