Research and development are an integral part of our composition. Blade Energy Partners has, through its many contributions to archival literature, established a reputation for high quality research and development. Our people have published over fifty technical papers and articles in numerous and significant areas.

Our current research interests are in plastic-mode behavior of tubular products, degradation of tubulars subject to cyclic loading, limit states under combined loading, application of optimization theory to oilfield problems, multi-phase flow modeling, impact of wellbore stability issues on well construction, and thermal problems in the energy industry. We are also active in the study of reliability-based approaches to design, primarily in statistical descriptions of load events.

Blade is also active in Joint Industry research projects. At present, Blade is involved in researching and writing a comprehensive approach to the management of sustained casing pressure problems, as part of an industry-wide joint effort.

Blade people are also active in industry peer groups. Industry service is important to us, and we put this into practice through membership and leadership roles in industry societies, standards bodies, and working committees. We also serve as reviewers to several learned journals and professional associations, and are currently on the editorial board of SPE Journal and SPE Drilling and Completion Journal.
